I was probably the last person to hop on the Pinterest band wagon, I had looked at it and found cute things. But I didn’t get one till a few months ago. My only problem is that I can not keep up with the constant inspiration, but I guess that is good so I always have project ideas that I want to get to. Here are some of my favorite posts and why I love them.
1) Hangers as a magazine rack. This is a great idea, keeping them display in a cute way.
2) Travel Pack. I really need to make these, and I think everyone else should also, it’s just so useful to most people.
3) Chalk board dinner planner. I really want to make this when I have my own place, its also really convenient because it’s hidden out of view.
4) Moon and back poster. I really want this poster, it reminds me of It’s a Wonderful Life (my favorite Christmas movie.
5) Crazy Sexy Kitchen. I got this recipe book for Christmas, I wanted to eat better and so I was SO glad when I got it. I have only tried the apple shortcake, which was so good. The only down side is that I spent a bit more cash than I usually do and I’m on a extremely short budget, but I’m trying.
6) Floral Skirt. I want to make a skirt like this, I already have some fabric, I just have to start.
7) Elsie's (of A Beautiful Mess)The Library Date Dress, is my absolute favorite in her collection with ModCloth I never got to snatch one up when they were on sale. I still love it though.
8) Pet bed. I want to make this for my cat, he had a bed when he was little, but I want this one, it looks too cute. My dog would probably try to lay in it also.
9) Kitchen peg board. I would love to make one of these, maybe not as big, but I would love to do this. It would free up space in my small kitchen & when Kevin is helping me do the dishes there won’t be a kitchen table full of dried dishes like, “I don’t know where they go…”
10) Swiss Autumn Photo. I think this would look absolutely beautiful framed on mine, or your wall. :]

Twenty before Twenty-one
I made this list in November when I turned 20, I’ve already
accomplished two of the things on my list. I really hope that I will be able to
finish all of these before I turn 21. Their not much, but I think that they
will be challenging enough for me to accomplish this year.
20 before 21

3 times a week.
2) Make
an inspiring craft area, and organize it more.
3) Do
a photo shoot with clothes, and things I make.

a new band. (Done; Of Monsters and Men)
6) Apartment
makeover.
7) Host
a small party.
8) Re-organize

Do you make lists of _years before _years? I’d love to hear
what your goals are before you turn a year older?

New Years Resolution 2013
1) Blog once a week. I really need to do this, I have this problem where I read blogs I love almost every week. But for some reason I do not seem to keep up with my blog, so I need to find a way to motivate myself to blog more.
2) Journal
once a week. I used to keep a personal journal a lot more when I was younger,
but as things got more hectic in daily life I stopped journaling as much.
3) Have
a monthly night, where we rotate movie night, game night and date night.
4) Eat
Better (I got Kris Carr’s Crazy Sexy Kitchen for Christmas this year, and I am
really excited [&& nervous] to try some of these new recipes).
5) Lose
35 pounds. (Sweat at least once a day).
6) Dress
better. (Wear better jackets and just spend more time picking out clothes I
really want to wear).
7) Take
more pictures. Of daily life, family and myself.
8) Finish
every book I’ve started. I love reading…but sometimes I’ll read a book half way
through and put it back on the shelve. Also I got A Visit From The Goon Squad
By Jennifer Egan for Christmas this year from my boyfriend, and I’ve been
wanting to read this book since about last Christmas when I was reading The Best American Short Stories By Geraldine Brooks,
for my creative writing class.
9) Take
two weekend road trips. As a college student, we can not afford vacation, so I
just wanted to take some small road trips and see some places that we have not
seen.
10) Create
more. I just want to do more projects.
11) Listen to
more music. I just feel that we don’t listen to music as much as we used to,
and music is good so we should do that more.
\** And this post is my first of the year, so this is my post of this week, i may get more motivated to post more than once a week. **

Apple Pie
Since it’s almost Christmas and it’s cold, I decided to make Apple Pie. I think what makes a great pie is the crust, a bad crust could ruin a good pie for me. I have used this recipe for years and it’s always been great for me.
Buttermilk pie crust
-
2 cups flour
-
1tsp salt
-
2/4 butter
-
5-6tsp milk
- Mix together salt & flour, then add melted butter
& milk.
- Mix till crust is not crumbling, separate into two balls
of dough. (be careful NOT to add too much milk, you don’t want a thin pie
crust.)
- Roll one ball out and put crust in the bottom of (greased)
pie pan.
Apple pie
-
4 apple
-
½ cup sugar
-
Pinch of nutmeg
-
Pinch of cinnamon
-
Pinch of allspice
- Heat oven to 425
degrees F.
- For the pie I cut 4
apples, mixed all spices together, then add apples and mix together.
- Roll out the last ball of dough & add to top of pie, I
usually make the crust lattice but I was being lazy and didn’t this time.
- Bake 40-50 minuets.
